I am trying to get my ft 847 to work in CAD mode . I have the C+ on, using NULL MODEM
CABLE ,baud set to 57600 BOTH IN RADIO AND PROGRAM , using COM 1. RUNNING XP HOME WITH SP 2. AL K4VHV

Al,

A bit more information please. Does the rig go into CAT mode when you click
on the "C?" If not, what sort of serial port are you using? Have you tried
the cable and port with another program? If so, what, exactly, isn't
working? Also, which satellite are you trying to control.

Al, I find that I need to toggle from C+ to C- and back to C+ in order to
get things to work on my FT-847. I usually select the satellite, turn on
the rotator, turn on the radio and then toggle the CAT control...see if this
helps.

FYI, I also have my CAT rate at 57600...can't seem to find that setting in
SatPC32 anywhere though. I'm using an ACER Netbook running XP, com4 for
radio, com6 for rotator and using RT Systems serial to USB converters...and
a real null modem cable on the CAT (not all cables are null modem).

to set the CAT baud rate open menu "Radio Setup" and in the upper left
section click on the control of the upper combo box (right hand of the word
"Model"). In the list that opens select "Baudrate". Click on the control of
the combo box below and select 57600.

There is a detailed description in the "Hints(Radio) for .....Yaesu users".
The file can be opened from the SatPC32 menu "?".

I would agree with Dave. Mine works by toggling the C- C+. One note. Are
you using the Yaesu Autotuner? I believe the Cat Port does not function
when the autotuner is plugged in.
